It is with a mixture of pride and sadness that we announce the retirement of Arthur L. Raynes, who has been an integral part of Wiley Malehorn Sirota & Raynes for over 40 years. Art joined Wiley Malehorn & Sirota in 1982, became a partner only three years later, and became a name partner in 2007.
Throughout his illustrious career, Art focused his practice in the areas of employment law and personal injury, and successfully litigated some of the firm’s most challenging cases. He has been a tireless advocate for people who were wrongly terminated, for children with special needs, and for those who were injured by the negligence of others. In addition to his multitude of successful trials and case resolutions, he developed a reputation for his unwavering commitment and his remarkable ability to find innovative solutions.
Art has been recognized with numerous awards during his career. He was in the inaugural class of New Jersey Superlawyers and received that distinction every year until his retirement. He also was selected as one of the top 100 lawyers in the State of New Jersey.
Art’s advocacy did not stop at the steps to the courthouse. In 1992, he founded Saturdays in Motion at his local YMCA, which has grown to become the longest running non-public recreational program for children with autism. In 2017, Somerset County honored Art by awarding him its Disability Advocates Award, which acknowledges those who work to ensure that people with disabilities in Somerset County are included fully in the life of the community.
As a diehard Rutgers graduate, we know Art will continue to follow his Scarlet Knights in all sports as they chase conference and national championships.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Art for his years of outstanding service and his invaluable contributions to our firm and clients. Art, thank you for your dedication, wisdom, and friendship. We wish you all the best in your retirement.
Sincerely,
Everyone at Wiley Malehorn Sirota & Raynes
